I completely agree!
My Charter Undercover and my Walther P22 have similar dimensions. Although the P22 is much flatter, the Undercover is much more ergonomic to carry.

Absolutely.
I went through a half dozen guns and almost as many carry systems before I found what works for my needs.
In fact, within the last couple months I've bought a Colt Commander, a RIA compact, a Springfield Micro, and a Colt Officers.
