Haven't shot the 4" but a friend of mine has the 5" black version. I don't have to take care of it, but it's a great shooter. Shot 100 rounds through it, which isn't a lot, but didn't have any problems with it. It's extremely accurate and easy to shoot.

Seems like most non full size 1911's tend to have more issues. Kimber's are great guns, And despite all the Internet naysayers they have excellent customer service. You will be able to get more info from 1911forum.com. My Custom II is simply a great 45acp platform. I will never part with it, And have dealt with Kimber first hand due to rookie 1911 mistakes.

Thanx all, I have never shot a 1911 45 with a 4" barrel I have shot my friends SPRINGFIELD 1911 45 compact shorter than 4" and has pretty stiff recoil and muzzle flip.

I wanted to know how a 1911 4" with a rail shoots, so I thought about KIMBER also WILSON COMBAT has the 4" 1911 PROFESSIONAL Tactical RL Black.

I own a LES BAER 1911 45 TRS slim grip standard not the one with guaranteed 2.5" at 25 yards and I love my LB.

The smaller a 1911 gets, the harder the recoil...Of course, that applies to all guns. As far as compliance goes, I dont know if its on the list but you can get the single shot exemption which isn't that expensive unless you dont return the parts.

I have a stainless pro carry II and the recoil isnt as bad as the smaller ultra's but isnt as easy as the full sized steel framed ones. Mine is aluminum framed as well, not sure about the model you listed. After about 150 rounds you know you have been shooting.

Why would anyone need 10 rounds of .50 caliber anti tank sniper ammunition???"
