Question about a S&W revolver.

So i went to my local gunstore intent to buy a .38spl snubnose revolver,preferably S&W.

Anyways, on a impulse i bought a new S&W .357 mag N-frame for about the same price instead.Beautiful gun.

This is only my second S&W so im not too familiar with them...But its a model 520.Ive checked out some gun dealers and even looked on the S&W site and no 520???

I havent picked it up yet still got a few days left just wondering why the model number doesnt match up.

Hmm i must be missing something.It looks exactly like this.

Did this come out in 2006? Was it supposed to come out in 2006, but didn't until 2007? According to the advertisement, above, it's an L-frame. Otherwise, it looks as if it will be a fine handgun!

And to confuse things, the *original* 520 was indeed an N-frame .357 w/ fixed sights -- the only one of its kind. Mucho sought-aftero....

The 520 is the fixed-sights version of the 519.

would any one happen to know about an article on smith and wesson model 29 44 magnum that was in one of the gun magazines in December 07 it was a review of all model 29 magnums up until the model 29 - 10 the latest model.

im trying to find out what magazine this was in so i can order a back issue unless any one wants to sell me there copy thanks so much

I have a recent 620, which is the stainless version (and is on the S&W website). While not as popular as the fully lugged 586/686 they're great guns and can use most of the 586/686 accessories (important since a lot of accessory makers don't list the 520/620). I put a nice set of Kim Ahrends cocobolo L-Frame grips on mine. Enjoy.
