Finished my Colt Commander Pics

I just finished installing, the sights, grips, and touching up the finish on my 1967 Colt LW Commander. I think it came out pretty damn good for a CC gun.

Wow....love that look. What a fantastic weapon. Lightweight commanders are great carry guns.

You mentioned that you were "squaring" a trigger guard - what are you doing and how? I'm curious.

I am doing that to my RIA 9mm 1911. I would pay a professional to square the trigger guard of this Colt, is it wasn't was Father's Carry gun in the late 60's to mid 70's. It has too much sentimental value to me as is.

As for the RIA squaring of the trigger guard, I am going use the "heat and stretch" method.

I will definitely post some pics. I don't know how detailed of a write up I would be able to do, but I will see.

I love the retro look, I have no use for a square trigger guard, I just love how it looks on 1911's.

Very nice! I think it looks great. I'm a huge fan of Commanders and Combat Commanders. I've been debating sending my 1953 9mm Commander back to Colt for some mods and turning it into a carry pistol on my LTC.

I would be too I hope you find it, or one similar to it. I want one in 9mm but I don't want to pay what people want for one, especially since I already own one. I would have converted this one to 9mm but I don't really like to "tinker" with my CC guns to that extent.
