Value of NIB 2.5" Nickel Python

Anyone know the current market value of a 2.5" Nickel python in 100% condition with all papers, box etc.

is it nickel or stainless? The reason I asked is because (to my knowledge) nickel pythons came with 3" barrels. 2.5" pythons are typically stainless.

a NIB 2.5" stainless python, my guess around $1800-$2000

In fact a 2.5" stainless sold at the recent Rock Island Auction for $1900, and this is without the box.

a NIB 3" nickel is another matter altogether. The blue book of firearms lists it at $7K.

On average here in the PRK I would say $2K. But the year would make some difference. A late 70's early 80's gun would bring a little less, an early year 1960's gun maybe a little more.

Are you selling or buying? I ask because I'm looking for one and might be interested.

I'm looking to buy, the seller is asking much more than $2k. Considering that it's a 2.5" nickel and they are the most rare after the 3" nickel some same less 2.5" nickel ones manufactuered than 3" blue. Never seen one for sale in cali so I am seriously considering buying it.

I would not pay "much more" than $2K for that gun. Yes NIB Pythons are rare in Cali, but don't overpay.

Make sure the box and papers are real and the serial numbers match, there are lots of fakes out there. If possible post pictures of the gun and box before you buy and we can help determine if it's fake or not. You can also jump on ColtForum.com for more help
