    .380 +P Ammo

For those shooting .380's, check out +P ammo from Buffalo. You can achieve 1300 fps with this stuff. It will improve penetration in instances where it is needed. You just have to make sure your firearm will handle +P ammo.

Buffalo Bore Manufactures the finest high powered handgun, and rifle ammunition available.

Which can be difficult to determine since there is no SAAMI spec for .380+p?

In a question and answer on Kahr's website, they promote that the Kahr .380 will handle +P ammunition.

Disclaimer: This is what I read. Consult your firearm's manufacturer before using +P ammo in your firearm. I cannot be held personally liable for the firearm you left at home or the shot you miss.

Since most .380's are straight blowback, and are obviously tuned to cycle standard loads, this sounds like a quick path to slide and frame breakage to me.

The browning short recoil operated mini pistols may (like their bigger 9mm cousins) be more tolerant of higher pressures.

Thought I'd revive this thread in case some of you haven't heard about the Buffalo ammo for .380

bought some months ago, for my browning bda, and it helped, that it was a firearm used in the specs
That may be a CG first!

Just FYI for the LCP owners Ruger specifically states that +P ammo should not be used in the LCP.

Reminds me of the line about over-compressing an air rifle, or putting Webers on a Renault Dauphine. If you need more gun - get a bigger gun.

Always consult your firearm manual for what ammo it can handle.

                          I love it.
Sound off if you know what a Renault Dauphine looks like!

Ah yes, now we're REALLY changing the subject! My older and wiser (?) brother had two of them in our driveway and garage at one point, back in the 60s. He taught me engine basics with one of them. They were "interesting" cars. Couldn't keep the water out of the oil on one of them. Anyway, sorry about the change of subject, OP.
