Always helps to list the handguns you own already!
If you want different, since you already own an XD, I'd say the Glock is pretty close to that. The P2000 with LEM is closest to that, too. The Sig is closest to the CZ. The P2000 is a better gun than the USP, with its backstraps, cut down slide, etc.
I would suggest that, at this point in time, the CZ might be the best choice. I've seen some bargain bin prices on them. With a trigger job they can be very nice. The Glocks are nice, but I don't think you add any "extra" over the XD. If I were looking to add an HK, I'd wait for a P30 or HK45 (there's no way they won't end up in state).

Has to be 9mm?
I'd strongly suggest a S&W M&P.sigpic

i think you're gonna get the best value out of the Glock 19.Comment

Everybody needs a glock.
My .02 - If you are not planning on concealing it, I like the 17 better than the 19. The longer barrel gives more velocity and a longer sight radius. The 19 sometimes pinches the palm of my hand when I ram a magazine home, but the 17 doesn't. Both point about the same, wich is to say very well.Comment

CZ SP-01
Since your wife will be a shooter, the full size SP-01 on your list is probably the best choice. It's heavy as well, so the recoil will be quite soft and manageable. It is supposedly the second most copied design after the 1911.
Interesting to note that your list has 3 compact and a full size.Comment

You'll be comfortable with any of the four, have your wife hold each and get the one that fits her best. Integrating her into your shooting hobby will help her understand and accept it further down the line.
Then, after shes held all four, buy a 1911 in 9mm. Ok fine, of the 4 you suggested, I'd suggest the P2000 or the G19, but all 4 are outstanding pistols. Go with what fits you both best.Comment
