California long slides

I'm wanting to find a centerfire 9mm, or .45acp round that has a 6" barrel or longer that is semi-automatic. What are my options. I've looked at glock 34/35, AMT Hardballer is just ridiculous to find, and I'm not seeing a lot out there. The CZ Tactical Sport is pretty nice but something around the 6" or so barrel length is a minimum. I want a long sight radius and something to play with for accuracy at the range.

For the record I already have a Ruger MKIII Competition 6 7/8 BBL with an added inch on it with the Volquartsen compensator, and I've looked at and owned various revolvers so I wanted to know my options for semi-auto long barreled guns.

you can have a long slide built for a 1911...other than that you're pretty much limited to single shots (which will be very accurate) and wheel guns

I didn't know they made that one but its a whole lot better than the hardballer. Of course I'd have to single shot it because I don't believe its "safe" in this crazy state.

Direct Action Solutions in San Diego had a 1911 Long Slide last week when I was there. Not sure where you live though! (They will do single shot modifications to avoid roster issues)

Huh? It's on the roster, it's also one of the few loaded models I've seen in stock at almost every gun shop I've been to recently.

Oh wow, didn't realize it was. I assumed it wasn't because I've never seen one around or in any of the shops locally. MSRP is $980 so most of the local shops would ask somewhere in the $1600 range anyway. I could get it off Buds or somewhere and end up just over a thousand. I'm using my Dan Wesson PM7 right now for targets. I'm also using a heavily modified Colt that was a super spendy piece so who knows. Maybe I should sell it, and buy this with a bull barrel and call it a day.

Sinice you looked at the GLOCK 34 and 35, perhaps you could build a longslide on a big framed Glock (20 or 21).?

You could built it in .45, .40, 10MM, 357SIG and 9X25 if you wanted to.

The Glock 17L or 24 could work? They're a 6.02" barrel. Are you interested in Glocks or are you leaning more toward 1911's?

Definitely leaning toward 1911 or steel based platforms. If they made a CZ 9mm DA/SA I would jump on a 6" BBL CZ in a heartbeat. I wish they made some more long slide steel framed or even aluminum if possible.

Para super hawg! I was gonna go the Springfield route but the forward slide serrations are so distracting to me.
