My daily carry gun (Smith 1911SC .45acp, no mods) simply will not feed even one whole magazine of these through it. It takes all other kinds of ammo even including reloads and hollow points from Federal and Winchester. No problem whatsoever. Is it just my 1911 being a typical finickey 1911 or has anyone else had issues with this ammo in other types of guns? Even other types of remington .45 are not a problem.

Polish feed ramp?"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep." -

I have the same 1911 as you. It likes golden sabers. I went thru 100 of them flawlessly in one trip.
Can you tell what the round may be hanging up on? It sounds like you should try/use something else that works reliably, or see if you need to have your feed ramp polished. If you can, try different mags and see if that helps.Sub2k 9mm and Buckmark Rifle for sale:Originally posted by Huey Freeman

Golden sabers are about the only JHP that my Taurus PT-145 can eat without choking.Comment

As my gun is my primary carry gun on my CCW I cannot modify it by polishing the feed ramp. It states so in the application and rules. It probably wouldnt matter as its not a major change to the gun, however they dont state what a modification is or is not. So stock is my only option at this point. The gun has no issues with any other type of ammo tried even including lead round reloads. I just like the performance of the golden saber and was a bit surprised at the lack of reliability in my 1911. I will of coarse stick with the winchester ranger for now. Usually when a 1911 doesnt feed a hollowpoint, it wont feed ANY hollowpoint. I was just curious of anyone else had the same problem. The mags were Wilsons, McCormicks and the stock mags as well. Apparently its just my 1911 being a 1911.Last edited by BunnySlayer; 09-12-2011, 11:46 AM.sigpicComment

I don't think polishing the feed ramp will ding you as a modification. If so then you couldn't change sights, grips, or mags (other then factory mags). I would verify with the issuing agency but I think they're more worried about somebody going to town and getting 10oz triggers and grip safeties that don't work. Polishing the feed ramp so your chosen defensive ammo works everytime should be encourged. As my gun is my primary carry gun on my CCW I cannot modify it by polishing the feed ramp. What is the overall length (OAL) of the sabers? I've found that my 1911 prefers a round that's a bit over the average of 1.250 for 230gr ball.STUFF I HAVE FOR SALE! SCOPE RINGS, Man CAVE FRIDGE, ETC

Wow...Golden Sabers work great in my 1911 Kimbers...I had two FTF on the SXT rangers, one of the HP edges hung up both times, thus went to Golden Sabers and have never had an issue."Bruen, the Bruen opinion, I believe, discarded the intermediate scrutiny test that I also thought was not very useful; and has, instead, replaced it with a text history and tradition test."
