I was taught hold a handgun with bent elbows, right arm mostly straight, left foot forward, left hand under, cupping the grip. The guy who trained me, trained police, was a long time ago. Maybe I've strayed from his exact teachings.
Last week I rented a 9mm Glock (model 34 I think) at the range. It jammed on me 6 times before I finished the first box of rounds.
Guy at the range advised to shot with body squared, both arms out. Explained about the effects of recoil. And demonstrated by pushing on the gun to simulate, while I tried both grips.
I only had one round jam over the next 3 boxes.
While shooting in this 'new to me' stance, I was thinking this is does not feel like a good stance to use tactically.
So my question is, Do some guns work better with a certain stance style?
