Problems with 9mm AR Pistol -FTE,FTF

    So here's the specs:
    Model 1 Sales 7 1/2' AR15 Pistol Upper Half, 9mm, 1-15 twist , BCG
Lower: TM 80%. Spike's magwell adapter for 9mm. BB. PWS Enhanced Buffer Tube, Pistol. Took it all apart, lubed, etc.

The problem: I know there's some fine tuning w/ an adapter but I didn't have these issues when I used it on my other lower and 16" 9mm upper. Went to the range and chambered a round. fires. Empty doesn't eject. readjusted and ok now it does eject but not consistently. When it does eject and chamber next round, it won't fire. I have to pull the charging handle back to chamber next round and it will fire once. Kept having to do that so stopped and looking for suggestions. Not sure where to start here. Use a different buffer or spring? Trigger problem? Anyone have an idea?

It's the one on the right in the pic:

Hmmm. Model 1 sales could be the problem...

Like a troubleshooting a car problem start with the cheapest options and work you way up

There are a couple of things it could be. first things first try different mags, if you are using the C-product 9mm mags try tracking down some colt 9mm magazines, they are a bit more expensive but thats the cheapest option. Also what ammo are you using? theres always a chance your gun is just picky, which I wouldn't be too happy with either,

If that doesn't work, try switching out buffers, I have a heavy 9mm buffer in there, forgot where I ordered it from, thats another cheap swap.

From there it gets pretty expensive. There's a good posibility it could be your adapter or upper. Before you buy a whole new upper try getting a different adapter. http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sho...product_id=530

You want the Hahn dedicated 9mm magwel adapter. it is very easy to install if you've ever assembled a stripped lower you'll have no problems with it. once its installed it is sturdy as all hell with the upper on top of it.
I have a CMMG 7.3" 9mm upper that kicks absolute *** and chambers everything.

I had a similar problem with a 7.62x25 DI rifle upper. Make sure your gas port is clear and not obstructed. I had to open up my port to the next drill size 3/32 to 7/64. Do not do this until, all other issues have been resolved. Magazine lips can be hitting the Bolt and need adjusting. I had to tap mine on the concrete to adjust. We were using PPS43c sub gun mags shortened to 10 rds for Kalifornia. Try some slightly hotter ammo maybe +p and see if it cycles this may indicate port too small. Good luck

If his upper is like mine, there is no gas tube/port, it's a strictly blowback operation. Its an odd looking bolt carrier thats for sure though

are you using a ramped 9mm bolt? that's what im using, i have no problems with my ar pistol unless i use sh*tty mags.

            Check the buffer spring.

            Then extractor

            Ammo

            Mags

            And piston system.

I'd start with ammo. Cheapest fix and usually main problem for issues. Especially FTF problems.

            Those are my guesses.

Sorry I guess I missed that sound very familiar to my issue with a DI system. Although it seems similar mag issues.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have some old uzi mags (pre ban) but they're over 10 rnds so I'll have to figure out a way to block one before testing. I'm using c products 10 rnd mags now. I've used the spike's adapter in my other rifle lower w/ no probs so I doubt it's the adapter. So here's what I'll try if I can get to the range tonight:
                -diff ammo
-diff buffer (have the spike's one from previous build)
                -diff spring
If that doesn't work I have another pistol lower to test all that stuff with.

I'm thinking its your buffer man, a regular one from a AR probably won't cut it. If I recall I got the Rock River Arms 9mm buffer, its heavy as all hell. I was shooting out of state, and the C-product mags were alright, they got very tough to load at right around 28 rounds, 32 was tough to do.

I'm guessing that's the case also. Heading to Angeles tomorrow w/ some of my toys to test out diff options and bringing my other 9mm ar (cmmg lower/spikes upper/spikes buffer) so I can steal parts off it to test.

I tried every combo of spikes parts that work in my other AR and other pistol lower but no dice. Emailed Model 1 and they replied with an RMA and to send it back so I guess I'm sending it back.
