3rd gen glock mags in a gen4 gun

Yes Dave they will work. They will work in any GLOCK with the mag release on the LEFT side, like most GLOCKS have.

On an Ambi GLOCK that has a mag release on the right side, they won't work.

You can legally 'rebuild' those prebans with new TUBES and whatever other parts you want (personally I would recommend upgrading with new springs and followers as well)

Glock magazine compatibility is dependent on the type of magazine release on the Glock.

Glocks with the standard magazine release can use all (1st-4th gen) generations of Glock magazines.

Glocks with the ambi-magazine release can only use the latest (3rd gen) generations of Glock magazines.

Glocks with the reversable magazine release set up on the standard (right) side can use all (1st-4th gen) generations of Glock magazines.

Glocks with the reversable magazine release set up on the non-standard (left) side can only use the newest (4th gen) generation of Glock magazines.

Glock magazine generations...
Technically, there are nine generations of Glock magazines.
They are often simplified down to four generations.

The simplified version...
1st gen = NFML
2nd gen = FML
3rd gen = FML with ambi-mag cut
4th gen = FML with ambi-mag cut & reversable mag cut

If you acuired your Glock magazines in 1999, then they are either 1st gen or 2 gen magazines, because 3rd gen magazines didn't come out until after 2005.

As everyone else already said, yes.... all G19 mags will work just fine in a Gen 4 G19, as long as you use the mag release in the standard position. I used my 1st gen NFML mags and they worked fine in my Gen 4 G19.

Buy the Glock too
I had a Gen4 and only has Gen3 mags because I got a bunch of 10 round single stack ones for ten bucks a piece in Arizona.

They work fine as long as you aren't using the mag catch lefty style (as others have pointed out).
