First Look! Custom Commander

Had one in 9mm, added another in .45.

A friend on the Colt Forum did the work...I couldn't be happier (will shoot it for the first time tomorrow)

Just curious though, is your "after" pic of the .45 instead of the 9mm? Seems you went with fiber optic front sight on the 9mm but the after picture shows a gold bead.

Also it appears your rear sights are Novaks, but the slide doesn't appear to be milled for a Novak cut, what exactly are you using? It doesn't look like the Novaks on any of my 1911's with Novak cuts.

The sights are different.

9mm has a front Dawson Precision fiber optic in a custom cut dovetail while the rear is a Novak "wide notch" white dot in the GI dovetail.

The .45's are a staked Trijicon front and Novak Trijicon rear, both with white dots and tritium inserts.

My eyesight's so bad I can't see any of the four very well.

I just lay down suppressing fire and carry extra mags.

Very nice pair! I'm liking these commanders more and more! But I enjoy a good BobTail on them! Congrats! Now go shoot those twins.. Just keep the 9mm ammo away from the .45.
