Looking for a picture of satin nickel and satin Ionbond combo- doesn't matter what firearm, I just need to see how it looks. I was going to Ionbond my TRP but may just Ionbond the slide and do the frame in nickel. I have always wanted the reverse 2 tone.

Forget about nickel finish I had a 1911 that was nickel finished and it doesn't last long. I got some of it chipping. Nickel finish doesn't like some of the cleaning solvent's and if left on the finish it will cause it to chip and look ugly. The wise man said just find your place

Go hard chrome instead, or even silver Ionbond. Here's a HC/IonBond combo.

Not mine, I wish. John Harrison built that particular one here's a list of the specs (apparently he built that one for his daughter) - it's been featured in a few magazines:
"When I started work on it, I wanted to make it's appearance be set apart from the OEM version, so I knew I wanted to give it some Harrison trademark features like a fluted flat top, serrated 40 lpi and a hair-line joint at the beavertail fit. These two things required some welding to achieve, since the slide already had a dovetail front sight and the original beavertail fit was intended for mass production. I welded up the original front sight dovetail and frame tangs and refit them the way I wanted. The rest of the work was more straight forward and went like this:
SDM rear sight modified for one-handed operation with enlarged notch
New dovetail front sight with white bead
Flattened & fluted slide top, serrated 40 lpi
Rear of slide serrated 40 lpi
Ball cuts at spring tunnel & bottom bevel on slide
French Border with interupted cuts
Springfield beavertail
Wilson #6 thumb safety
Yost Bonitz ignition parts
Grieder short smooth trigger
30 lpi bordered checkering on the front strap and main spring housing
Round butted frame with hand made cocobolo stocks
Beveled mag well
Shortened magazine with steel floorplate
IonBond DLC on top end (-w- polished flats) and hard chrome on the lower"

Since this time he's come out with his own ignition parts etc. but I'm not sure if they're available for the EMP.
He has by far the most complete and well made website for a gunsmith that I've ever seen, with detailed work order lists and picture examples for almost everything.Last edited by Cyc Wid It; 09-06-2011, 8:27 PM.WTS all BNIB: Colt S70 Repro, HK45c, Gen4 G19Comment
