this kind of talk has been going around for over a year now, its good, is all i can say.

if you use FMJ ammo there will be a really big difference in performance between 9 and .45, i think they should develop something even more potent though.

i personally like the 10mm a lot, dont know how well it will work with just fmj though, may just go right through.

i still like my 92 though and i still like the 9mm round, cheap and fun to shoot

I would love it if the competition brought out a double-stack Sig P220... oooh, that would be sexy.

and be able to take a silencer
Thats going to cut down 95% of the guns out there. The Browning tilt barrel desing does not like silencers. Sure it will work but you need a very light silencers and bumping the silencer around while firing is going to cause jams. The M9 has a fix barrel which makes mounting a silencer a no brainer.

I'll bet it'll take ANOTHER 10 billion in experiments to "Find" one when they ALREADY HAD and mostly still HAVE the Kik*** 1911 AND the HK......

What'ya bet they do something REALLY foolish and put an XD in everybody's hand

P220 would be nice. Hell and back reliability, nice trigger, and very good accuracy.

Do you think they will look at guns that use the 45GAP? To me the GAP is a solution looking for a problem. I guess it may make sense for the female members of the armed forced with smaller hand...

How sweet would that be? Now I have a new daydream, military surplus 10mm at my friendly local grocer.

I would opt for the SA Custom Professional FBI 1911; it has been tested and proven to be reliable under any conditions, but at over 2K a pop and production limited to about 50-70 a month, they will not be able to keep up with military demand.

I heard thet the Glock 21 may be in the run for replacing the 92F

That one has been on the back burner for me; but if the army will go to .45 route the rounds should get cheaper and maybe time to put it on the front burner. Personally, I shoot better with the P220 than with the 1911.
