Couple of CA questions (Santa clarita)

Hey guys a couple of CA questions...

I'm currently in my 10 day waiting period for a brand new handgun which I pickup on tuesday 9/6, I know I can't buy another new handgun for 30 days from the 6th, but what about used guns? Can I buy a used or consigned gun sooner?... Also how long is the wait between 2 used gun sales?

Anyone know any reasonable FFL dealers in Santa Clarita or near here. (please don't say oak tree, their ffl fee from an outside source is $150) also do ffls charge sales tax on the online gun purchases?

Thanks cal gunners... I'm sure i'll think of more questions later...

There's Greta's Guns in Simi Valley, or EBR in Newberry Park.

Consignment guns are PPTs as far as the law is concerned. 30 day buffer doesn't apply to them.

The issue is not buying a new gun, but buying a handgun from a dealer (that is not a consignment) triggers the "one every 30 days." Even buying a used gun that the dealer owns triggers the 1 in 30. There is no limit to buying consignment guns and doing PPT, your wallet is the only limiting factor Also, the 1 in 30 is only for DROS'ing a pistol, not buying it. If you find a good deal or a special pistol you want, most dealers will let you pay for it (or layaway if the have such a policy) and hold it untill your are able to dros again. As for transferes, I know Addix tactical in san fernando is $50 transfer fee + dros.

You can buy 10 PPT guns a day, everyday if you got enough money!

Yeah, you can still do PPT transfers. No 30-day period there.

Another decent local FFL option is PD Gun Supply in San Fernando. $70 transfer fee including DROS. The only downside is he is closed Sun/Mon and only open until 6 on Fridays

30 days from date of DROS to date of DROS.

You only have 20 days to wait from 9/6 if that's your pickup date.

Whiskey Tango Firearms in Canyon Country will do transfers for $75 or PPT for $35. They're right off of Soledad. No problems with them and they're local.

I've never transferred with them but I did end up talking with the owner once and shooting with him at APTS. He was a cool guy.

Help with some clarification here. I was recently looking for a non roster gun, and was informed that I could NOT buy a "consignment" gun "as the law considers it as being purchased from the gun shop."

I'm not trying to start a war here, just trying to get the facts straight.
IF consignment DOES NOT count as 30 day due to PPT, why would it not also free you from roster issues, as roster does not apply to PPT.

I understand there will be a lot of opinions here, can anyone provide actual law referances? Any help greatly appreciated.

Consignment means it is still owned by the private party. The shop takes a percentage of the sale. It's still a PPT. Does not trigger 1 in 30.

Now a used gun being sold by the gunstore means the property has been transferred to the FFL. That's a 1 in 30 purchase.

Some shops may not want to consign off roster guns. From my understanding if they bought an off roster gun and transferred it to themselves they will sell it to LEO only. Some shops would do that for consignment too because of their own reasons.
