    Need hard chrome source

I'm having some work done on my 1911 and I want to mat hard chrome the receiver. The guy Hoag used to use is no longer around.

Who have you guys used and do you have pictures of the results? I'd rather deal with someone locally (LA, Valley, San Diego, Inland Empire, So Cal).

    Thanks,

    Jeff

I'm not exactly sure what's up with Techplate in Anaheim (heard they had some trouble renewing their FFL??) but they are certainly local, and do great (and fast) work, although I've never used them for Hard Chrome.

I know its not what your looking for but how about Robar:http://www.robarguns.com/np3.htm.

No hard chrome that I saw but I'm interested in the NP3 finish myself.

Metaloy (not local, but probably the best) or Techplate, though I wasn't aware of Techplate's recent troubles.

I have used Techplate for hard chroming services and was very happy with their work. I also had them hard chrome all of my duty mags. These mags get abused and they are holding up better than any other places I tried in the past including Robar.

Working great. It's my go-to gun and is leaning against the corner of the bedroom wall at this very minute.
