    Tyler T grips

This is probably a dupe but I couldnt find anything on here so figured I would post this anyway.

I noticed about a little while ago that this company was out of commision which caused a pretty steep spike in prices on site such as gunbroker, but as of mid August these guys are up and running on two feet again.

I just put an order in and now its time to play the waiting game

Glad they're back in business and thanks for the update.

I have one on a Charter Arms Undercover .38....I love it. If my J frame didn't have Crimson Trace grips...I'd probably have a Tyler adapter on it too.

I know a fellow on another board who had ordered an adapter from them some time ago. When it didn't arrive, and their website went away, he wrote it off as a bad deal. He received his adapter just a few days ago.

Tyler T-grip with magna stocks makes a K frame a real dream to shoot. Glad they are still out there.

I would love to see pictures of the 1917. I have one that I was thinking about choppin, it has a set of stags and a Tyler grip on it currently. It has already been refinished in the past so it would make a good candidate

And here is my 27-2 with sheep horn grips and Tyler t grip. During the mad price bump for Tyler t grips the most I paid is $55.

I'd still be weary of ordering from them. Many from the S&W forum still have yet to receive theirs. A member, however, did start making copies of these grips and seem to have good support/reviews. Here is his thread:
The following post from 6/4/11 is copied from the Tyler T Grip thread: I posted a while ago that I was thinking of making these things out of resin. The learning curve has been steeper than I expected, but I have produced a few that I would appreciate feedback on before I proceed further. What...

                      From their website...

Tyler Manufacturing has resumed production of the TYLER T-GRIPS and TRIGGER SHOES. After a lengthy family conflict I have been successful in taking over the ownership and management of Tyler Manufacturing. As of July 25, 2011 over 1000 shiny and flat black T-GRIPS have been manufactured and will be received by Tyler's customers within the next 7 to 10 days.

I would like to extend my sincerest sympathies for the practices of the previous owners/managers of Tyler. I have made it my priority as the new owner/operator to fill EVERY back order immediately. I will post weekly, my production list of all completed finishes and sizes of T-GRIPS AND TRIGGER SHOES. These updates will continue until appropriate office help can be hired to answer your questions. Address changes have been logged and applied and your letters have been read. Although I am not able to respond to every request, I hope this update and receipt of your orders will be a satisfactory response for now.

As of this date, I have produced over 200 back ordered TRIGGER SHOES. However, not all back orders of TRIGGER SHOES have been completed, most have been done in flat black. Bronze and Aluminum finish TRIGGER SHOES and T-GRIPS are the next items to be produced and mailed.

My business practices are far different than what many of you have previously experienced in dealings with Tyler Manufacturing this last year. I have taken a leave of absence from my law enforcement career to focus on the day to day operations of Tyler and will continue to do so to ensure the company's success.

My intent is to have inventory and orders shipped out as they are received instead of back orders or custom made items. This means that all trigger shoes will be manufactured in black, back ordered bronze items will be manufactured but production will be limited for both T-GRIPS AND TRIGGER SHOES after that time.

Also, as soon as possible, Tyler will have a new web site.

I look forward to doing business with you.

                      Sincerely,

                      Bryan Matthews, Jr.

Funny thing. I make the above post today. I get home, and what is in the mailbox? That's right, my t-grip order.

As a side note, I've always been curious about these. Who would you folks compare these compared to just having a solid wood grip? I know these initially came about due to a demand to fill in that gap... but now with modern grips already doing that without an adapter, not sure if these provide anything extra.

I've been thinking of adding it to a pair of Altamont grips for my N Frame

The T grip adds no bulk and you get to use the original stocks ... it's also cheaper .. and the Tyler is well built out of metal..not plastic like the old pachmeyer ...

I shot my Colt last night...and I way appreciate it...

I have a 4 in model 29 that I have been looking around for a set of stags to put on along with a t grip...no bulk to the bottom of the frame.. so they hide better in an IWB... and esp on the 1917 etc.. they just look cool.. and function better...

on a 2 in revolver... shooters can handle the gun way better also...as the thin part at the top of the frame.. where you have a long finger what is tryin' to hold on to a light hard kickin' revolvin' shootin' iron... but can't and the T helps...
