    police trade ins

I've noticed a lot of G22's hitting the market lately.

Just wondering if anyone in CA stocking them and if they have ones that are gen2/3.

Buds has gen1's with hicaps for 419, but of course we can't get these.
WTB: Marlin 989 M2 stock (uncracked), and 989 M2 rifles

Summitgunbroker.com is a place that specializes in police trade ins. The guy who runs it, Mark i think, is a nice guy. They're in Missouri so you'll have to pay your locall FFL but they've got a lot of nice stuff. I bought an 870 there a while back for cheap. They get lots of different shotguns and handguns. I'll add that their stock changes contantly with stuff selling out quick so you've got to be on it to get what you want. Everytime they get more trade in Benellis I'm always too late!
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

What's is the expected/typical level of wear/usage that one should expect from a police trade in?

I just got a used LE Glock 23 from ombexpress, pretty good condition except for some very slight holster wear which would be expected from an LE gun. Doesn't look like it was shot very much either.

Expect it to be very used, with good wear on the rails, and severe holster wear marring the finish.

That said, if you can pick through a sample of them, there are some very, very nice looking guns. I've picked up a Sig 226 and 229 which were LEO trade-ins and they must have belonged to a detective or manager, because they looked like they had under 1,000rds through them, and were rarely un/reholstered.

When buying a used Glock...if all the safeties work the gun is good to go. Ignore the wear, the Tennifer is embedded into the steel and does not wear off. The Phosphate finish is what wears. The barrels are also Tennfier finished and are almost impossible to "shoot/wear out". Sights are a concern, of course no serious shooter leaves the crappy plastic sights intact. So if the firing pin block works, the striker (aka firing pin) has good purchase on the trigger bars cruciform and the "trigger and drop" safeties show no/little wear, party on Garth...it's a good purchase.
yes... I am a Glock Armorer and have bought a few used Glocks in my time without remorse.

I contacted Mike at Summitgunbroker.com, he will break down those evil hi cap mag's down and ship them as a parts kit. I checked with BAGV and they will accept it from him like this.

The last police trade it I got was a gen1 g17. The polymer was alittle messed up but otherwise was in great condition. After 30k rounds through it, I had yet to see a jam of any kind, but the accuracy was pretty bad after about 27k. Needless to say, when it comes to glocks, I couldn't care less about their exterior condition.
