Another pre-ban mag question...

Ok hear goes. I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but thought I'd ask anyway.

I have a bunch of pre-ban G19 mags. Would it be legal to rebuild some of them into G17 mags?

As long as they still function in the G19, yes.

as long as they work in the g-19, and you don't end up with more magazines than before, i think that is legal.

oh yeah, you also need to make sure a part is used from the g19 mags to the g17 mags.

Yes...a pre-ban Hi cap can be changed. 15 rounds to 17 rounds..still a hi cap.

The body and spring is longer on the 17 than the 19..

17 round mags could fit in a 19 tho.. Or you could get a +2 base plate for your 19 mags. Idk if that's legal tho.

Funny how both mags have an dash 6 follower. So we are good-to-go.

Same follower and floorplate.
Just replace the body and spring and you're good to go.

Wow guys, thanks for the info. This is one time where I'm glad I was wrong. I knew I could turn G19 mags into 33 rounders, but I didn't know for sure about the G17 part.

so hypothetically speaking, if I have a legally acquired 20 rd AR mag, I can legally make it into a 30rd mag, as long as I end up with just 1 hicap mag?
