Glock 17 Gen4 Recoil Spring placement.

Does it matter how you place it?

I've noticed if the recoil spring is set the certain way, the slide is slightly off the frame.

    Unless I've got a lemon...

First question is do you have the 03 or 04 spring? What grain ammo are you shooting?

It's not that it's jamming. It's kinda weird, sometimes Right before I squeeze the trigger, while dry firing, the slide moves to the center before releasing the striker.

It's hard to describe, I will post video tomorrow

maybe it's just the gun not being broken in enough

And I think that's normal. New design of the "bump" on that slide rail or what ever. I THINK. don't quote me on that.

Either I have no idea what you're talking about, or you have no idea what you're talking about. How's that video coming along?

WOW, that guy is a complete idiot...

Do not bend any of those parts. That "groove" in the slide is a cam surface, and it pushes the connector over to reset the trigger.

I can't believe how many people are ready to risk their lives with kitchen table gunsmithing.

My guide rod does the same thing on my Gen 4. Its a plastic recoil guide rod piece and is sloppy. It is always crooked to the left or right. The only way to solve that is to get the stainless steel one from glockstore.com. They show a video of it compared to their stainless steel replacement part.

In regards to the youtube video above: The guy doesn't see the purpose of the parts designed by a gun manufacturer and he will file it down? The problem with youtube is people like him, who know nothing; claiming a part has no purpose when a company that made it and did extensive testing put it there for a reason. Whats worse is the idiot who sees that video and thinks that the clown knows what he is talking about (and does what he is talking about) then accidently kills himself or someone close by..... and then sues Glock.
