I have a glock 19 that has a failure to feed problem with any hollow point ammunition. I wanted to post a video so people could see what I was talking about. The problem happens when I use any of my 10 round mags and I get to rounds 5,6,7 in the magazine. In the video I posted, the same problem I am experiencing while firing also happens when I load 5,6,or 7 rounds in a magazine and then release the slide stop or use the slingshot method. The only thing that has solved the problem is using 15 round magazines.
Here's a list of things I have tried in order to get my 10 round magazines to function with hollowpoints:
1. Changed recoil spring
2. Changed out all the followers to the 9mm3 followers.
3. Tried new Glock factory springs
4. Tried new Wolff magazine springs
5. Sent magazines to Glock to inspect. Said nothing was wrong.
I notice that when using 15 round magazines, all the rounds sit higher in the feed lips then the 10 rounders. I notice that rounds 4,5,6,7 sit significantly lower in feed lips. I have basically deemed this pistol "range only use". I have read numerous other Glock 19 owners in California using 10 round magazines and hollowpoints who have no problem whatsoever. I thought maybe it was the extractor but the round is slamming into the bottom of the barrel ramp before it even gets high enough to slide behind the extractor claw. I've basically run out of patience and don't want to spend any more money to solve this problem. I have a hard time believing all 10 round magazines won't work with my gun.
Update:
So I seemed to have fixed the problem. The 9mm6 followers don't work in the 10 round mag bodies unless you remove about ~1 mm of plastic on the right side near the feed lips. Once you remove that 1mm, the followers work nicely. The nice thing about these followers is the spring doesn't hook into the follower like the traditional follower, which makes it so when you press down on the follower it doesn't nose dive. The rounds sit in the magazine at a slightly higher angle, which cause the hollowpoints to feed properly into the barrel.
