    Another S&W K22 story

So I try to buy as much as I can, usually I only hear about "the one you just missed" but I do land a nice one every now and then.

In this case we are talking about a S&W 17-3 from about 1971 in original box but with some god awfull grips that I thought were homemade. Anyway, I have the gun shop trained to call me when something nice comes in, so a few Saturdays ago I get the call, NIB 28-2 four inch, 34-something 2" and a 17-3 in box, slightly used with after market grips. I said thanks but I have to work today so please don't hold them for me. Well, as you guys know, I couldn't stop thinking about it so after my last appointment I gave them a call and had them pull the 17-3 out of the display case and hold it for me

As I recieved it (the grips are made by a company in NY, if anyone wants them let me know, I will cut you a real good deal on them)

A few shots with the new safe-pall, an 18 no dash from 1958

The paper work on the 28 was being finished by the new owner as I walked up to the counter, the guy asked if they had anything else that hadn't been put out on display as they handed me the boxed K22 to look at, talk about a close call.

Imbert & Smithers, in San Carlos. They are great people to deal with and if you bring them a couple of pizzas they will remember you when something good comes.

They still have that nice Performance center .45Colt, what a nice set-up that was, I just don't have the desire to get into reloading for another caliber.
