Pistols with POW!

I've been intrigued recently by the prospect of a pistol that fires .223 or a similar small caliber, high-velocity round. I'm not a big fan of the AR or AK pistols though. The combination of the magazine outside the pistol grip and the long barrel makes them seem very front heavy. I discovered the FN Five-seveN but the 5.7mm round is expensive and has less energy than a 9mm. Are there any good pistols out there that shoot .223, 5.45, or the like and aren't just a SBR without a stock?

Check out elite ammunition for that 5.7. Sizzling hot. Something like 2300 fps from the pistol barrel. Yikes

Actually, what about a Tokarev or CZ-52? 7.62x25 is definitely a hot round.

My dad's T/C Contender in .223 is a pretty fun little beast. It's only single shot, but it's one hell of a shot!

Sig Sauer makes a P556 pistol. It doesnt have the buffer tube sticking out like most AR pistols. But it isn't cheap.

An AMT in .30 Carbine is a blast to shoot. Not much recoil but definitely a big boom and flash. A real crowd pleaser at an indoor range.
