    Pistol Sight Colors

Decided to grab a set of Trijicons, and they offer a GREEN front with a choice of GREEN, ORANGE or YELLOW rears, so I was wondering what most people decide to go with when given those options.

    Pros, cons, personal preference, etc?

Never had them but I'd go green green. Maybe yellow. Again just what I'd assume would be better. No personal experience with those or any colored sites. Green green should be easy to match all 3 greet dots and not confuse the brain with differant colors and focus on one color all together.

But I guess yellow and green would stick out from each other well. But again it's one more think for your brain to interpret while shooting.

Green are the brightest and easiest to pick up in low light conditions. And I've had green front with red rear and green front orange rear. Go green/green.

If you have green/green how do you quickly pickup the front sight? I really like green/yellow if i have to have tritium in the rear. I really love my Ameriglo Hackathorn sights, green in the front with a red surround and no dots or lamps in the back.

the theory behind yellow or orange rears is that when all 3 dots are green, the two green dots on the rear, being nearer to your eyes will seem brighter than the front, when you actually want the front sight to be the brightest.

yellow and orange tritium glow less bright than green, so the green front sight is supposed to end up being brighter, and easier to pick up if you go with a different colored rear setup.

as always, YMMV and the decision is up to you.

I think I can take orange out of the equation.

studies show green is easier to pick up in the day and red at night
