I consider myself about a C- shooter - so this ain't meant to be an official range report, just sharing my experience today.
Took my a Dan Wesson Valor, a PM-7 and a CBOB to the range today. First time firing them all. The CBOB, IMHO, did extremely well for a commander sized 1911. It held its own with its full size brothers without any problem. I absolutely love the feel of a Bob-Tailed gun. It's my first bobbed 1911, or any bobbed gun for that matter. It just feels so comfortable in the hands...and I'm a long time lover of the feel of a standard full size 1911.
I was slightly surprised at the Valor, as I expected it to out shoot the others by far. It started out landing the first couple of mags low. It has Heinie night sights that are height adjustable. So I thought no biggie, I'll adjust it if needed. But by the time I went through 3-4 more mags, it was much closer. I'm sure it wasn't operator error, LOL...
The PM-7 has the "Bomar style" adjustable sights, and it started out - and stayed low. A few adjustments and it was set. It did well after that.
All of them have really good triggers, not just 1911 good - but GOOD for a 1911. But the Valor trigger puts a BIG smile on ones face. All operated flawlessly, with no issues what so ever. Fired about 150 rds.
I was shooting at 15 yds, from a rest. My bad back prevents me from shooting standing up (for very long), and I wanted to sight these in, and give them an initial test.
I did have an opportunity to talk to one gunner about CG's, and had a nice conversation with him. He shot all of my guns, and was quite happy to have that experience.
I used strictly WC mags, 47D's, and the newer ETM. Shot Fiochi 230 gr FMJ.
Question; Is it common for a 1911 (or any gun for that matter) to initially shoot several inches off (low in this case), and then *move* after being fired more?

(FWIW, The Valor and PM-7 have the stock grips, and the CBOB has Larry's Horned Lizard Monkey Grips. The Valor comes with slimline VZ grips)

Do you go to USI? If so if you don't mind I would like to try out your c bob if possible. Never had the chance to shoot one.
