Creating fixed mag on my USP

If I were to remove the mag-release from my USP, would it be considered a fixed-mag handgun?

No, because the mag would drop out and not be retained.

And - I think I see where your question(s) may be going ....

... if the gun had a threaded barrel, it'd be considered a prohibited semiauto

... the gun would also NOT be regarded as a single-shot pistol either since
it can accept a mag while manually held in place, and remove the mag without
    tool

Please follow the 'recipes' that have been posted here for some time about AW status avoidance and Roster-exempt single-shot conversions. Please do NOT embellish on your own as you'll likely get something wrong.

is there a way to create a "fixed-mag" scenario on a USP? I read that magazine lock = grinding down the magazine release until it was below the surface of the frame and at the point where a person can no longer operate it, unless a tool is used. Is this possible? & I would never try doing anything along these lines before first making sure I'm not setting myself up for an epic failure/ jail time.
