    S&W5906 question

Since Wideners has used S&W5906s for sale, I have thought about getting one. However, according to the CA roster, the only model 5906 that is certified is the 5906T. How does one tell if a 5906 is a "T" model or not?
Not that I really need another handgun, but since I have 3 mags(proper sized) for one, I figured I might as well get a gun to use them in.

Good question. Wish I could answer, but it's been years since Smith made those great guns. So, is it even a roster-issue? Ironically, those old guns already had most all the "safety" features we're now forced to endure here in CA.

"T" for tactical? Like a TSW maybe?

Checking the roster both the 5903TSW and 5906TSW are on roster until the end of the year. Those are the only 59xx guns listed.

I owned and carried a 5906 for years as a LEO. It is a very reliable, well engineered handgun and I wish I had kept it. Sold my 1947 Mercury coupe years ago and still regret that decision too.

Correct, you'll have to find one ppt

Are you better off than you were four years ago?

            Hi

Since the gun is not on the DOJ list you can't buy it from Wideners plus they have this posted "No Sales of these items to California, D.C., New York, Cook County IL, Maryland or Massachusetts. Orders Placed to these areas are subject to Cancellation Without Notice'

Even if you're an FFL or active duty LEO, it's a no go. Plus we won't even talk about the "standard" capacity mag that comes with the gun.

            Unless it's a PPT.........You're SOL....
