    Shipping handgun lower frame

    Quick question:

I'm shipping out my entire polymer frame (containing trigger housing) to Bill Springfield for a trigger job. Can I ship this via USPS, and is this considered the firearm?

It's a firearm and depending in the recipients location it may need to go through an FFL.

I believe Bill Springfield has an FFL, so I can ship to him.

You will need to over night ship it from a non-federal location AKA Fed-Ex. This is how I shipped my XD when it needed work done on it.

For purposes of shipment, a handgun frame is likely regardable as a handgun - and handguns cannot be shipped via USPS by non-FFLs.
          (Long guns, however, can.)

Use UPS or FedEx overnight. You should declare the item as such, too - don't listen to asshats who say to ship it as "metal parts" or other nonsense.

Could I get a gun store to ship it via USPS? I heard FFLs can ship to FFLs using USPS.

Unless you are a frequent customer, they're going to charge you more than it would cost to send it yourself.

I tried that last year! Totally not worth it. They wanted $40 extra. I shipped it 3-day select myself.
