Looking for caliber information

I am looking to do a small project with some .30cal handgun cartridges. Havign said that, I am looking for a particular kind.

Basically, I need to know if there are any handgun cartridges out there that are necked down to .309-.311 bore diameter (e.g., .45ACP necked down to .30, .357 necked down to .30, etc)

I haven't been able to find any references or any work done on this area. Any ideas or knowledge?

The 357 Sig is .357 caliber not 30 cal.

Check the 300 Herret, the 7.65 (30)Luger, of course the 32 ACP actually uses a .309" diameter bullet. The 30 Swiss was chambered in the 1882 Swiss Army Revolver, the 7.62X35 Tokarev

Of course the 30 carbine was chambered in handguns by Ruger and AMT. Many single shot handguns were chambered in 308, 30.06, 30/30, etc.

I believe the 1895 Nagant is a .30?.

You are correct, the Nagant pistol is .30cal (more or less)

300 Whisper

I have made "300 whisper rimmed" by necking down 360 DW brass.
360 DW is basically a 357 Magnum case that's made 1.4" long instead of 1.29" long like the regular magnum.
You could also make this from 357 Maximum brass, but that is 1.61" long and will require more trimming.
