Help! I screwed up some threads

Doh!!! I was swapping the grips on my father-in-law's 1911A1 back to the original ones and ended up trashing the threads on one of the little inserts that the grip screws go into. Where can a get a replacement?
As this is an old Army model, can I get a vintage one from somewhere??

Have one ordered before my wife gets home would be best...

    Thanks!!

You don't want grip screws, you want grip bushings. They screw into the frame and many, especially if it's an old Colt are staked. You need to be very careful removing them so you don't strip the threads in the frame. A bushing driver helps a lot.

      Thanks for the info!!
They are ordered and on the way.

The bushing is already out. The kit I ordered has a tap that will hopefully clean up any damage I might have done to the frame. I don't think there is any, but just in case.

      Thank you again!!

And thank you for getting me the info so quickly. About the time I was hitting "place order" my wife walked in the door. It's her gun really(her father's before he passed) so I wasn't about to try to hide it from her.

She had that "what am I going to do with you" look on her face when I started the story, but relaxed when I said parts were already on the way...

Kings Gun Works in Glendale will have them in stock.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Be very careful screwing the bushing back on - it's a pretty fine thread & easy to cross. If all you did was damage the screw threads inside the bushing, not a big deal.

A little loctite might be a good idea on the bushing thread, prevent it from happening again.
