    Kimber Kmp

Just saw this on the back of the new American Rifleman. Looks like Kimber is throwing its hat into the polymerized tactical ring. If it performs like their other guns, I want one. Any guess as to whether this will make the list?

    Yes...I know its KPD...

OOPS! KPD -- no wonder it did not come up in the search...Was thinking of S&W's M&P, I guess...

I was going to post this same thread!

It really sucks when a mfg puts out ads, before updating their website, or otherwise having any info in circulation about the product.

From the ad, though, it says it has a magazine disconnect, and loaded chamber indicator, so maybe they're expecting to take about a year to bring it to market.

It also looks like it can take interchangeable backstraps. Offered first in .40, with a 9mm version on the way. Double-action only.

Should be an interesting gun! It'll be interesting to see where this takes Kimber - if they'll produce subcompact versions, or other non-1911 handguns. Maybe a Kimber revolver!!!

I hope it wont be a $1000 gun, as that would be a shame, since I would buy an HK instead. The Kimber kind of reminds me of the Steyr pistol they were selling at CDNN for a while...that I couldn't get here in Cal.
