I will be the proud owner of a Glock 34 in seven days. I got the gun shipped from Buds for $600.00 and completed the paperwork at Metco 2 in Susin City Monday. First impressions of my new pistol were the trigger is not as bad as I was expecting. The creep in a Glock is unavoidable due to the striker design I assume, but not as bad as an SKS for sure. The one thing that I do not like are the sights. They are way too bulky if that makes sense. Is their a more precise sight that you recommend for target shooting? Thanks in advance. Sammy

Many G34/35 owners use heine/dawson combos.NRA Life Member and Certified Instructor: Pistol - Rifle - Shotgun - PPITH - PPOTH - NRA Certified RSO

About 90% of my customers (after I show them the product in comparison to stock/stock adjustable/Meprolight) have me install the TruGlo TFO (Tritium FiberOptic) day/night sights. Low-profile, and great sight picture. If you are going for a competition-type, that's not my area of expertise- I would imagine the previous posters were mentioning a sight that would fall in to that realm. Hope this helps!

Before you start making modifications, you should give the stock sights a try. Precision is much more a function of the shooters ability to form a consistent sight picture, and maintain that picture while releasing the striker, than it is the configuration of the site picture. For sure there are good reasons to put an aftermarket sight on a glock, but those reasons do not include the stock sights inability to make use of the guns mechanical accuracy.Comment

Congrats on the G34, I'm looking to get an OD one to match my OD G19.
You can improve the feel of the trigger by polishing and removing the sharp lines from the chamfered edges of the firing pin safety
IMO, the stock Glock sights aren't bad, but I really like the Warren Tactical Sights with the FO front for outdoor daylight use.

++ for Tritium Tru-glo
I'm attending the Police Academy. When the other cadet saw my Tru-glo's on my Sig, they all wanted them on their Glocks. These sights are GREAT. I can see my sights!!!!
If you have a dealer discount with midway (www.midwayusa.com), you can get the sight (including shipping) for about $90.
Very easy to install! The Tritium Truglo gives you the best of both worlds. Bright sights during the day, and night sights at night.
Only bad thing, is the fiber can be damaged by some of the cleaning solvents. If you have the fiber sights, you MUST not use the dunk cleaner from Cylinder & Slide, or the spray blast cleaners found at your local gun store.
I have also noticed that the local gun shop fails to put locktight on the screw after the replace customer's front sights. We had two cadets front sight come loose after firing less than 100 rounds.Comment

Arotek Glock sights
I have two Glocks and they both have Arotek Glock sights - one has night sights and one has white dot sights. Arotek is a supplier of Glock parts and customization located in Washington state:

The rear sights are made of aluminum and anodized black. They are very streamlined and low profile, and attach with two small screws and a plate that slides into the dovetail cut on the gun's slide. So installation or left/right adjustment is quick and easy without a gunsmith or sight pushing tool.

The front sights match the rear sights and attach with a small screw and loctite:

I like the Sevigny Carry sights."Most people understand that guns deter criminals. If a killer were stalking your family, would you feel safer putting a sign out front announcing, "This Home Is a Gun-Free Zone"? But that is what the Westroads Mall did" (in Omaha, Neb).

I have the Heine/Dawson combo on one G35 and the Warren Sevigney (front FO) on another G35.
I like the Warren Sevigney's better and most likely will be swaping out the Heinie/ Dawson combo. I have another Glock that needs sights so it is not a big deal.
Both sight sets are nice, I just prefer the WS's.
Oh and if you want a trigger with no pretravel, no overtravel, light single stage trigger then check out the GlockWorx Comp III trigger kits. I have two of them and they are great.Last edited by PLINK; 09-28-2007, 9:32 PM.Comment

Thanks for all the great information. I will play with it stock first and see what I want to do. I checked out GlockWorx website and it looks like you can get a great trigger out of a Glock after all. This thing has more aftermarket mods than a Honda Civic. Sweet
