    Hi guys
I'm in Sac county and just got my CCW approved. Need to take a 16 hrs class, any recommendation?

It was only 6 hours for mine in Fresno County.

There are several in the area - including ccwtrainer on this forum!

        Most ranges also have classes.

There is actually a few places in the sacramento area. Ranging from about $120-$300. If you just want to get the course over with then you take the cheaper courses(usually are exposed firearms security guard course, which I don't really recommend unless you're going to take a defensive class later). You should check out the ccw discussion portion of the forum. There is also this thread http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...70#post6732370

After you take the CCW course for the certification I also recomment a 4-day defensive handgun course (if you have not already taken one) just to beef up the skill set and comfort level. The CCW courses, from what I have been told (I have not taken the California version yet but plan to soon) are pretty darn basic. They are more about making sure you are not dangerous than making sure you will win/survive an actual gun fight. Personally I really enjoy taking courses. They are not just educational, but are really fun.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
