glock experts, i need your help

i recenty got a second gen austrian proof marked Glock 19. i know what all the marks mean except two and i can not find any info on them. on the side of the barrel where you see the serial number there is a LTD mark. on my other glock's ( second gen 17 and third gen 17C ) there is a glock logo and a little five sided shape. my question is what does the LTD mark mean? also there is a 2 printed in the eagle proof mark on the slide, what does the 2 mean?

    here is some pics

    the glock

matching eagle with 2 and npv proof marks

the eagle npv and LTD marks

I don't know the answers you're looking for, but I have a 3rd gen 19 and it doesn't have the little "2" in the eagle. It also doesn't have the "LTD" anywhere on it.

Pretty cool 19 you got there.

I read about this same subject on GT. Here is the answer:

From 1982 to 1991 G17s were assembled & test fired in Austria. (Later pistols were assembled and test fired at Glock Inc. in Smyrna, GA.) These early production pistols are marked with an eagle and "NPv". The markings are proof marks and inspectors marks as required on Austrian pistols.

The NPv mark means "Nitro Powder proofed". To get this proofmark, a Gun in Austria has to be proofed with 130% load.

Wild guess my friend. I think it's the Date Code when your barrel was test fired:

The 3 letters represent the barrel test fire date code:

The first letter is for the month:
          E...Jan
          L...Feb
          N...Mar
          B...Apr
          S...May
          Z...Jun
          G...Jul
          P...Aug
          I...Sep
          C...Oct
          V...Nov
          A...Dec

The last two letters are for the year:
          O...0
          W...1
          K...2
          R...3
          F...4
          M...5
          H...6
          Y...7
          T...8
          D...9

this could be it, my serial number is EH*** so the gun was manufactured in March of 1989, could the barrel have been made a month early? i know it is the original barrel because the serial numbers match.

Yes....that's it.!..I am sure they run 1000s of barrel thru their test-fire machine and stamp on the serial number down the production line.

Cool. I love those Gen 2 GLOCKS...they fit my hand well.
