    1911 Magazine Comparison

Just found this page. The reviewer compares seven different 1911 magazines. Good read for anyone wondering why there are so many different magazines. Possible would also tell you which one to get for your specific 1911.

Sorry if it's a repost; I searched but wasn't able to find anything specific.

I'd lean toward directing folks to the 10-8 article than the first one. The first article's weakness is that the platform of comparison isn't exactly an industry standard when it comes to QC

Thanks for those links guys, good info. I've been searching here, the 1911 forum, and Google for any/everything on 1911 mags. Apparently 9mm like mine tend to be more finicky re: mags and how the round gets fed into the chamber, but that first article really helped demonstrate just how/why mags can vary in performance

You should have mentioned that it was a 9mm 1911 earlier...it isn't really the same animal (functionwise) as the .45ACP is.

Here is an interesting article on trying to make a 9mm 1911 run reliablely

Thanks for that link, 9mm! I'll check it out when I get home.

From the reading I've done, 9mm 1911 have problems with the rounds nose-diving, not really a problem I hear about with .45. But it was still valuable for me to see how .45 mags vary since I'll own one of those at some pt too

I have the 10rd 9mm Elite Tactical Magazine & i have to really slam it into the gun when loading, the factory commander mag needs nothing more than a tap to lock into place.

Is the average price of a mag between $20 and $25?
