Anyone go to the LAX Range sale today?

I went a little late at around 3pm to see what was left. Everything in the store was 15% off and all the bulk ammo was at the back parking lot. I ended up buying 500rds of WWB 45 for $170 plus tax which is basically $17 a box. Was this a good deal? It was sorta an impulse buy for me even though I don't currently have ammo at home and I would want to buy WWB for the range anyway.

Went right at opening. Remington in the back was a better deal at 250 rds nickel target loads new bulkpack at 80 some odd bucks for the 45ACP.

The best deals were on the PMC 223 cases at around $260, the bulk reloads along with their new bras loads from LAX were priced well below show prices.

Personally I just needed to pick uo some of the PMC green tip.

I was there 20 mins before opening, looked around for 9mm ammo and was set to pick up some 9mm Pmc bronze ($205+tax) and some cheap federal .22lr (16.99). However instead of waiting til the register was open, I made the mistake of walking around the corner to check out the gear on sale in the store. By the time I was done and went back to the lot, the line to pay for ammo was easily 75-100 people long so I just left and ordered my pmc from surplus ammo instead (224 shipped)

I guess I went at a good time. By around 3pm there wasn't really any line to pay, even though the place was still kinda busy especially inside the store. Most peeps there seemed to be waiting for lanes to shoot though.

What is everyones' opinion on reloads? Cause I know people have told me this before but damn, shooting isn't cheap...especially shooting 45's. Don't think I can keep paying for brand ammo so I've been thinking about reloads but I've read some bad things about them.

I was there at 9:00, made the mistake of not jumping in line immediately. I saw a ton of people just standing in line with nothing in their hands...didn't realize that was the line to check out. Ended up waiting an hour and 20 minutes. Of course right as I got to the head of the line they opened up a second cash register. D'oh!! The wait was definitely a pain, but I found what I thought were good deals. Fiocchi "Shooting Dynamics" 115gr 9mm 500 rounds for $105, Winchester M-22 40gr .22LR 500 rounds for $22. Both are rounds that my pistols love. I only wish I had the funds to buy a lot more.

They also had these nicely powder-coated ammo cans (30 and 50 cal) done in various colors with various gun company logos painted on them. Sig, Glock, S&W, etc, as well as LAX Range. Hadn't seen these anywhere before so ended up picking one up too.

The wait wasn't a total loss. People around me started chatting it up and I got to meet a few good folks.

I shoot lots of LAX reloads - never any issues (they load their own in the back warehouse)... great prices... there is no reason to shoot factory ammo at the range (not that its a bad thing, its just not necessary)... just have plenty of good HD ammo for time of need.

Same here - I had it on my calendar and debated all morning... I just didnt think it was worth the drive from OC... now that I know the lines were so long I'm glad I didnt go.

If I needed ammo though, I would have went for sure (as is, I dont even have room for more ammo )
