    xdm trigger job

    Hi guys,

I tried a search but nothing came up. I got an xdm recently and its great but the damn trigger pull is so long. I see that springer and prp offer trigger kits but I wanted to hear some personal experiences from the good people here. Anyone do this mod and what do you think?

Also, I still want to use the gun for the range and also HD, any recommendations for a good trigger pull weight?

    Thanks in advance

i put a prp match trigger in mine and am totally happy. Well worth the money and you can do it yourself.

My groups and accuracy have improved greatly................

I have no idea of the pull weight.....but it's better and the reset is shorter.

Is the break crisper? Mine feels alittle mushy before it finally breaks.

        And its a 9mm xdm 3.8

I have the XD,wanted a quick reset and clean brake for my winter carry SC.40
I sent it to Springer Precision for his combat carry trigger job some night sights and some other clean up work.

Had it back in a week and it is sweet, especially for a plastic $500 pistol.

Mind sharing how much that springer job cost? I'm also debating whether to add night sights. Are yours bright enough during the day?

Can you buy XDm in CA?

              thought they are not permitted.

The standard Trijicon sights aren't that bright in the day,if I had a do over I'd get the Trijicon HD since the front sight has a better outline,or leave them stock.

Trigger job, sights, clean up,crown factory barrel + over night Fed Ex,
                I was at $500

This has been brought up in many posts. Just do a search and find out how to get one.

@RAPTOR3000. Look up single shot exempt here on calguns.

i cant comment on the XDm, but i have 2 XDs, one of which has the PRP trigger it (ultimate?) and MAN its awesome. WAYYYY better than stock, super crisp break, little/no takeup, wayyy less reset distance. Just a damn fun to shoot.

my buddy has a p226 and shot the XD with a trigger kit, 2 words: butt ERR!

I shot my roommate's XDM45 with a full spring setup, it was AMAZING. He reduced it to a 3lb trigger pull and split the reset distance. I had him install a similar setup on my XD 45C but I haven't been around to take it for a spin. I've put at least 1k rounds through my XD, after shooting the first magazine with the springer kit, I won't ever go back.

Looks like a trigger job is definitely in my future. Did most of you guys install it yourself or had it done by a smith? And if smith, can you recommend a good one around SF? Thanks

I sent my XDM 9mm to PRP to have them install the Ultimate Match Target trigger kit. Reason I went with PRP instead of Springer was solely based on where the trigger would break. PRP's trigger sits at/near stock starting positions and breaks farther forward from the stock trigger which I like since I have long fingers. Springer's trigger looks like it starts farther back in the trigger guard and practically reaches the rear before it breaks. This looks more like something someone with smaller hands/shorter fingers might prefer. I know when I was renting out two different 1911's that had different starting trigger positions, I preferred a longer reach/short trigger pull vs the shorter reach/short pull trigger. If you want and can travel to the southbay, I can let you fire a box of 9mm in my pistol if you want to see if you'd prefer a PRP trigger.
