    Smith and Wesson 52-2

Does this pistol ring a bell to anyone? It's a target pistol that shoots the .38 Special Wadcutter Only, Holds 5 rounds. Is it worth anything?

From what I have heard it is THE bullseye pistol to have.

Model 52's are excellent pistols, but not very forgiving. If you don't have a good hold and follow through, you'll think it won't shoot, but actually, it's shooter error.

52's are the bomb for bullseye shooters. They are a bit finicky about the ammo that they shoot and a reloader must know what they are doing, but overall, that is one sweet shooting firearm.

Flush mounted full wad cutter ammo is all that you can use in it, factory or reloads. Magazine holds five only. Superb trigger and light loads, a bit slow to cycle though. That's what make follow through so important.

I've seen them go for anywhere between $650 to $1200 depending upon condition, box, tools and paperwork.

I have shot a good freinds model 52 , It shot very well . The magaizine can be modified to hold an extra round . I find it amazing that a semi auto can be tuned to feed a 38 special case with a bullet seated flush , His runs flawless .

They are amazing guns. I have been looking to add one to the stable for awhile now.

52 is a bullseye gun. No other purpose for it, and I'd never want to use one for anything but bullseye.

But it is one helluva bullseye gun. Develop a wadcutter load for one and if you can do your part, the gun will deliver.

                  I'd love to have one.

I shot it for International Centerfire Pistol matches. It shot very well. I sold mine in favor of Walther GSP 32 S&W Long and 22LR combo set.
