    Laser/Light combo for XD 9

Gonna be DROSing an XD 9 tomorrow... I want to get a laser/light for it. Seen a lot of reviews about them falling off after a couple shots. Looking for something for HD...maybe takin to the indoor range to mess with the laser a little bit.

Any suggestions? Or better yet...anyone have any for sale?

    thanks guy!!

I've never really seen the need for a laser, but I really like my well-priced Streamlight TLR-1 (when it went on sale from Amazon for 60$). They make a light/laser combo (the TLR-2), but it's quite a lot more money. What kind of budget are you looking at?

I originally wanted a laser/light combo for my xd9 as well, but ultimately decided the laser was pointless. As far as aiming goes, I practice with regular sights anyways and a flashlight will light up whatever you aim at (kinda like a real wide, unfocused laser).

I opted for a TLR-3 after reading and watching a lot of reviews. (Nutinfancy does a good one). I'm very pleased with it. Locks up real tight, matches the frame perfectly, brighter than my 4 D-cell maglite, and hardly extends in front of the barrel on the service model. Also a nice price point at +/- $80

      Happy hunting.

I've seen postings of the TLR-3 breaking, with people putting them on tighter than what the plastic can handle. With a TLR1 / 2 you'd be getting a metal light.

I've got a two TLR-1 lights, one on an XD9 Service, one on an XD45 Tactical. Yes, the light extends beyond the muzzle on the service model. It gets dirty. It still works. I'll take working over looks.

I don't know how hard people are torquing those things down, but mine's sturdy as hell. If I'm trusting polymer as the frame of my gun, why not my flashlight?

As far as the light extending beyond the muzzle, it isn't an aesthetic thing. It's functional for me. I want my gun fairly compact - if I wanted something sitting way out there, it would be the barrel on a tactical model. The TLR-1 or 2 are nice, but they're a little heavier and longer. Just another option...

I got the older Insight M6 for my XD. I've used it in night 3gun matches, man do they work well. Two eyes open, looking for the little red dot. It feels like you're cheating

+1 on Surefire...!! I have and use them on all my Firearms... no problems with them getting loose or even falling off for that matter... even after shooting over 200rds on any of my pistols on a normal range day...
