CZ 75

I am itching for a new 9mm. I have a Beretta and a Glock, want a CZ75. There are three models I am considering: 75B, 75BD and 75B-SA. Any input, pro/con, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I guess if you are going to carry it, you have to be comfortable with cocked and locked to do so with the SA. I personally am not. I have a BD, and having had it, could have lived with the regular 75B.

The sp01 seems to have better grips, it also has a heavier barrel due to the rails and that helps with recoil.
It comes with a safety that can only be activated when the gun is cocked.

What exactly are you using it for? For a range gun I vote for the 75sa. For home defense and range work I vote for the B model or the sp-01. I like to shoot matches so I'm not big on decockers. Mark

Most folks love the SA, the B will give you the option of both DA and cocked & locked, the BD eliminates the ability to go cocked & locked.

keep in mind, you can manually decock and fire in DA with the standard 75b.

If you dont need the rail, get the 75b. They are scary accurate right out of the box.

I don't have any experience with the other CZs' other than the SP-01. It's by far the my favorite handgun. It's so accurate that it makes me think I'm actually good at shooting. Love the weight in my hands. Recoil is manageable. Don't know if I would like it if I had to carry it all day as a duty gun, but for the range or a tactical course, it's perfect.

Try it, it's a contender.

With the regular SP-01, you can have a round in the chamber, then lower the hammer for carry. It then becomes DA just like a Glock or a decocked Sig.
This is safe because the regular SP-01 has a firing pin block, whereas the non-Roster SP-01 Shadow and SP-01 Shadow Target version do not have firing pin blocks.

I shoot the SP-01 Shadow in USPSA production division with the hammer down and double-action for the first shot. My buddy has a Regular SP-01 with the firing pin block removed which gives a slightly lighter trigger pull.

I own both a SP-01 and a 75b, I really like the b but I absolutely love the SP-01. Before I owned the standard SP I had the Tactical model with the decock. I shoot both of mine single action hammer back safety on. I did not care for the DA/SA, someday they will both find their way back to CZ for the single action conversion.
