Favorite .45 ACP ammo

Federal
Winchester
Fiocchi
Magtech
Remington
Speer
S&B
etc.

Plus reloads from Miwall and LAX Range and others. Weighing cost, performance, cleanliness and accuracy, what's your preference these days for target practice with a 1911?

The kind that's the cheapest!

I buy reloads from a friend and have no problems and the price is damn right. Off the shelf I go with Federal from Walmart cause it's the cheapest and shoots great.

the cheapest I can find that is factory, new brass. Usually its WWB/Remington megapack at Walmart.

Never had a hiccup with Federals from Walmart, and they were the cheapest too.

$19 a box now...ouch.

I like Remington: high quality and fairly priced.

It's hard to beat WWB with price. My only issue is that they seem to be lightly loaded. Not a deal breaker though.

I like the RWS stuff. Its cheaper and cleaner than the Walmart Federal.

If you don't mind that its made overseas, PMC shoots very clean, straight, and cheap. They're a long time US ally, have a very high level of technical sophistication, and are host to thousands of US troops - I have no problem at all with ammunition made in South Korea.

I tried Miwall reloads and had a couple where the bullet was bulging out of the case and I stopped buying their ammo. I liked federal before I started reloading.

I like the Fiocchi and American Eagle. I just went through a couple of boxes with the Fiocchi without a hiccup.

I will never buy Remington again (crap).

RWS, PMC Bronze, or if I run out WWB at Walmart. I prefer the RWS and PMC over WWB.
