    beretta 92fs question...

    Hi all,

Trying to determine if the slide lock can be moved from the left side to the right side of the pistol, as I am a south paw and would prefer to lock/unlock using my right hand. I don't have possession of it yet, so if it is possible, can I do it without sending to the shop?

    Best,

    Chib

Sorry - I don't see how that's possible. Even with a fully customized gun shop (which would probably cost you close to the price of the gun to come up with this one) - the external trigger bar is on that side of the gun... There's no way it could be moved

Just use the inside of the second knuckle of your trigger finger to engage it. That's the way I always did it. Release it with the slingshot method. I found that it's even more convenient than operating it normally in right handed mode. I actually wished it was on the right side when I switched from shooting left to shooting right handed.

Not possible. You can also just pull the slide back with a loaded mag and just let it slam forward instead. The mag release can be easiy moved to the right side if you need to though.

Never seen one converted to the other side. I think it's impossible. Good Luck.

You cant do it on your own. i don't think the factory will do it either, but just to be sure, ask them. Try also to contact, Mr. George Smith, the owner/proprietor of EGW if this is a project he is willing to do. He is known to tackle odd jobs and projects.

              Good luck!

You'd basically need Beretta to manufacture you a custom pistol that is a mirror-image of the current design. There's nowhere to mount the catch on the right side since the trigger bar runs along there. Plus, you need the slide catch spring where it is because it also holds the trigger pin in place.
