    Bob Marvel .22 conversion

I really want to buy this. This looks like a very sweet conversion. The website states that these conversions dont work with some Springfield models. Problem is I only own one 1911 and its a full rail trp operator .45. Anyone know if my model is one of the unuseable one with these conversion kits?

I sent nighthawk an email but they failed to respond.

Ammunition costs are on the rise, which in some cases limits the amount of time behind the trigger. Practicing with a .22 auto does not replicate the feel of a 1911. What’s needed is something that will allow you to use your existing 1911with low cost ammunition for practice. You need something that will retain the same trigger and characteristics of what you carry. We are extremely excited to announce our new 22 Conversion designed by Bob Marvel of Bob Marvel Custom Guns. It has been a long time coming, but good things are worth waiting for. We have been collaborating with Bob Marvel for over three years on this new design, and we know you will not find a better design anywhere.

This new unit incorporates everything, and then some, that shooters want in a 22 conversion. It is destined to be the leader in all 22 conversion units offered on the market today. Just take a look at the features and you cannot help but agree.

One size fits both Commander and Government sized single stack 1911s No need to have two different units if you own both sizes of 1911s. (yes, double stack 2011 styles are on the drawing board and coming soon).
Locks back on the last round
Fits into every standard 5" 1911 holster
Fully Adjustable rear sights that are completely dehorned and recessed into the slide protecting the blade while ensuring you don’t accidentally rip a shirt while practicing your presentation skills
Match Grade Accuracy: More testing is being done at this time and will be updated in the near future, but with specified ammunition, one-inch ten shot groups at 50 yards are guaranteed
The unit comes with one polymer magazine, gun bag and easy take-down tool.

Future units with threaded barrels for suppressors, double stack magazines, magazine loaders and rails for mounting optics are coming soon. * Some Springfield Armory 1911s will not work with this unit.

I have two conversions from Marvel Precision and one from Advantage Arms. Bob Marvel designed the Marvel Precision unit, but doesn't have anything to do with that company. The new conversion is an AA unit that he reworks. I was on a list for ordering the first ones, but never got to order one. AA didn't furnish Bob with many units because of overwhelming demand on their end.

Bob is now waiting for more units from AA so he can rework them into his conversions.

The most obvious difference between the Marvel Precision and the Advantage Arms unit is that the AA unit is designed to go to slide lock on an empty mag. There is a steel insert in the aluminum slide. Basically, both units will go to slide lock on an empty mag. The follower for the Marvel Precision units have the slide stop on the magazine follower ground down so it won't engage the slide stop.

Probably not compatible with Springfield's small sized 1911's:
          micro, shorter dust cover.
emp, propriety small size, and shorter dust cover.
I don't think any of their full size 1911's are custom design, size or locations (except for the msh with the lock, but all their 1911's now have the lock).

Like the looks & features...locks back on last round->wonder how much is an extra magazine...
