Which Glock .40 to 9mm conversion barrel?

Having read (prior to buying) that shooting 9mm in a .40 cal Glock was just as reliable as shooting the pistols intended cartridge I went ahead and went with the G22. Now I'm wondering which of the two barrels should I buy? KKM has a long well deserved reputation for quality match 1911 barrels and Lone Wolf.. well I dont know much about them other than they sure do sell alot of barrels, have alot of satisfied customers and are about $75 cheaper. Does anyone have any experience with either of these two barrels?

I have a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel for a G27 and it works like a champ. Spend a few dollars more to have it blind marked on the underside. I can do without the huge, laser engraved wolf on top. The LW barrel has functioned perfectly. To complete the caliber conversion, I also swapped-out the extractor, ejector assy and plastic extractor spring bearing with the 9mm parts. G26 mags feed the conversion.

+1 on the Lone Wolf 40-9 barrel for my Glock 22. After an ~400 round break in, it works 95%. I do get the occasional FTE every now and then but Im happy with it.

Although people have been using them for years, without issue. There are a few my parts that are different between the .40 Glocks and the 9mm Glock that in an ideal world should be replaced as well. For example the .40 and 9mm due not sure the same extractor, nor do they share the same recoil spring, in Gen3 or Gen4 Glocks.

I have a Storm Lake Conversion Barrel and I love it. No failures of any type, and I've shot over 300 rounds through it. I wouldn't use it as a dedicated home defense or duty weapon, but for range use it's excellent.

I've had a LW 9mm conversion barrel for a few years now. It's a G23. It has never missed a shot. It is reliable enough that I carried it on duty for a while.
I've recently run it in my G27 without fail.
I've never changed extractors or ejectors. Just mags.

@ shadow65, what mags did you use? I just picked up a G22 4th gen. I'd like to pick up this conversion.

That would be Glock 17 mags in 9MM.

Lonewolf for the win. Except for the embarrassing Cartoon Character, which can be buffed with a wheel to almost disappear, the Lonewolf barrel conversion is the best value for the money.

Watch this to understand more about this conversion:

i haven't done the conversion yet, but I plan to. It sounds like you have to start with the barrel and see how reliably it works with your specific gun. If you get to many FTEs, then have to change out the extractor and/or recoil spring. Personally, I think I'd be happy with a 95% reliable range gun in 9mm and a 100% reliable home defense gun in 40 s&w if it meant I didn't have to swap out the extractor and recoil spring every time I changed barrels.

I have had great luck with both KKM and Lone Wolf. I would recommend both. FWIW, I only got these barrels to shoot moly and lead through my Glocks. In my opinion a FMJ only shooter need look no further than the stock Glock barrels.

I have a Lone Wolf 40 to 9mm conversion for my Glock 22. I haven't used it that much, but so far, so good. I use mags from my G17 and haven't changed the extractor.

I like the added bonus of being able to shoot lead bullets in the Lone Wolf barrel.

I have a .40/9mm conversion barrel for my G23 and it's worked fine so far using 9mm mags and the stock .40 ejector.

I have a glock 27 and got an original glock g33 .357 sig barrel for it. To me, reliability is worth the extra $ and the glock barrels aren't that expensive. You paid money for a quality firearm, why cheap out?
