    Handgun age question

I was wondering if anyone new the answer to the question I'm about to ask, although I might already know. My 21st birthday is just around the corner and my gift to myself will be a Sig P226 .40. I'm just trying to figure out when I can get it. My assumption would be; (Option 1) go in and start the paperwork on the date of my birthday, wait the 10 days, then go get it. OR (Option 2) start the paperwork 10 days before my birthday and pick it up ON my birthday. My guess is option 1 is what I will have to do, but maybe there is something about being 21 on date of pickup or something, I'm not sure. And yes, I will be buying from YZernie

You can pay now but the DROS can't be submitted until you're 21. That 10 day wait will feel like a month. It always does for me. Happy early birthday.

Go in on your birthday, pay for it. Then you get to celebrate your birthday again in 10 days when you can pick it up. I always try to stretch out my birthday celebrations. Plus during the 10 day wait go and get all the extras you will need like ammo, cleaning supplies, and anything else you may want.

          Have a great birthday!

I have heard but have no personal experiance with this , If you buy a handgun and while it sits in the 10 day jail you can go in and shoot it if they have a inhouse range ? I have freind that often when he buys a handgun he will go in and visit his gun during the 10 day wait , the staff just kinda chuckles.

              Remember your handgun safety certificate.

Happy birthday. Hit the range before the bars!
