So I just DROS'd a new FNX-9 through Valkyrie Arms, and it's now in jail waiting for the 10 days to be up. Of course, only now did I find out that the in order to fully detail strip the gun beyond taking the slide and slide innards out, the safety/decocking levers have to be drilled/broken off first. Which means that in order to completely disassemble the gun for cleaning, it must be sent to FN. The lever itself is only about 5 bucks, no biggie, but I'm not so big on the idea of sending my gun out just for cleaning if I get some dirt, sand, mud in it. Hell, if it's raining outside and I'm shooting I'm going to have to do that, don't want to take any chances with rusting. Seems like a somewhat stupid design considering it's meant to be a hard use duty gun, IMO. Does anyone know how to take the frame parts out on your own and put in a new safety lever yourself, without having to send it in?

I wouldn't worry about that. The pistol can be taken down enough for cleaning. You can even clean the trigger group easily and you will never have to break off any parts..LOL.
You've bought a great weapon..enjoy it and post a Range Report for us.
