    Which to get..

I have several 9mms, a couple of SA .45ACPs and revolvers in .38 Spcl and .357.

I want to get another handgun but I don't want another 9mm.
I like my 9mms and the round is great but how many variations on a theme can you have?

I don't own any .40S&W, never bought in to the hype or the need for a third pistol caliber.
    I don't own a 45ACP that is not SA and 1911 pattern.

So I'm torn between a DA .45ACP since I have ammo already or trying out a .40S&W just because it's different.

What about a Five-Seven In 5.7x28mm by FN Herstal. My friend just picked one up. Very nice. Bayarea gun vault on consignment for $1100.

When you figure out how to decide, let me know! I'm having a similar problem. Can't for the life of me decide what to buy.

XD45 or M&P 45 would be my choices.

Glock 21.... I had a pair of them, and ran one to over 100,000 rounds before the barrel lug sheared off. 230s going 880 fps, I was so disappointed.... Glock sent me a new barrel, but by then, I had no confidence in the thing.

Get something in .357 Sig. I think you will love it. Shoots flat, feeds great, and packs a bigger punch than regular 9mm
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

Glock 29 that shoots 10MM..but get a .40 conversion barrel for it. Later get the .357SIG barrel for it, then the 9X25 set up for fun.

4 guns in one. And the right size.

                      Be well

If you can find it, an HK45 with your choice of version. Amazing little powerhouse.

It would help if you included what role this new handgun would fill in your collection. Are you thinking about carrying it (CCW), a handgun for camping or off-roading, maybe open carry when hiking, or home defense. Would anyone else be shooting this, or expected to be able to handle it?

I absolutely trust my HKs (USPf .45 and P2000sk .40 - both light LEM triggers, plus a sweet P7M8) so I'll obviously suggest taking a look that way. Maybe an HK45 or a P30L? Buy as single-shot and convert, if not a USP or P2000 variant. You're welcome to try mine if you come to San Diego.

Why not forget about both and go with a giant hand cannon? S&W 500/460/ 44 mag etc

Probably bring you alot more joy than any autoloader will and the kick you get from firing a huge chunk of lead at supersonic speeds is indescribable

As I've previously stated in about 1000 posts I am not a huge DA/SA fan. I don't mind them too much when they can be carried cocked and locked however. Something you are used to with your 1911s. But if they force me to deal with that hard DA pull, I would rather avoid them if I can. So that tends to color my choice of guns.

The HK USP and several of their other models with the V1 trigger pack can be carried cocked and locked. All in all I really liked the USP. The only issue I had is that sometimes in my haste to get my first shot off out of the holster I would push too hard on the safety and it would go too far and decock the gun. Negating the purpose of carrying cocked and locked. It is not a huge issue, just a little annoying.

I am told most CZs can be carried cocked and locked, but I don't have any first hand experience with them to know how well that works.

The Glock series in 45ACP is very popular. I am a big fan of Glocks. Not for the sake of being a fanboy, but because they have really served me well. My past two Glocks have been 9mm. Before that 40S&W. I prefer 9mm and even 45ACP over 40S&W.

The SW M&P and the Springfield XD in 45ACP are really popular these days and have a very loyal following. Personally I would rather have a Glock, but if you are all Glocked out there is nothing wrong with trying something a little different. Or like a lot of people, maybe you'll just like them better. Who knows?

So there are no shortage of really good options.
