    Star Firestar M45...

...is gonna be added to the gunsafe soon!

Only bad part...my brother-in-law & familia is moving back to PI, which is the reason he's getting rid of it. That part sux.

OK...back to the gun. He's had it forever...like mid 90's. Shot very little. Blued finish, two mags. Nice, heavy little piece. Did lots of google-fu, found out they're underrated guns. Reliable, accurate...gotta get it in 10 day jail soon.

VERY underrated! I owned a few in .40 & .45 in the early '90's, and either sold them all, or gave them away (in the case of one EX-fiancee ) - I wish I had them ALL back!

Bought a blued one locally (in .45) about 5 years ago as a 'truck gun.' It's the only NON-1911 I own now. Finding extra mags are the key now. Star Arms went out of business at the same time CETME did. They were literally across-the-street neighbors in the Eibar region of Spain. BIG economic downturn in '97 in Spain killed them off, and they've never re-opened. The factory and all the machinery is still just sitting there...

Nice acquisition - especially in Starvel!

Thanks for the info, war wagon. Every little bit o' history is always cool.

I found e-sarco dot com...they've got lotsa spare parts. I'm gonna pick up a firing pin or two, plus a few other pieces. Read the weak link is the slide stop.

Oh...and I made a mistake. Finish is blue, not Starvel. Gonna edit my original post....

I use to have the exact same pistol. Very accurate little gun. The only part I ever broke was the slide stop. Mark

Jorge (STAR on gunboards forum) purchased much of the old stock when the company liquidated....he's great to deal with if you need parts.

I really like my M43 and Model BM.
