NAA belt buckle?

Almost certainly not in California.
At the very least, it'd count as 'open carry' which requires a permit and is only legal in counties with a population under 200,000 (which isn't many of them in California).sigpic

While unloaded open carry is legal, the first anti that recognizes that as a real gun and calls the cops to say you pointed it at him is going to send you to jail.
I sure as hell wouldn't be interested in it. If you really need to carry, get a CCW. The bad guys aren't going to wait for you to load it in any case.sigpic

If thats all you have available to you for defense? then yeah... you use whatever you've got to do whatever it takes...
however it would probably be more effective to pummel the attacker to death with your scrotum.
By the time you're done fiddling around with your belt and digging through your pants pockets trying to ready your little gun for action, you might as well have just pulled out the boys and started swinging.
not trying to be crude or anything, I'm just saying I don't put much faith in my speedloading the beltbuckle derringer while retreating for cover so that I can return fire because I'm now under attack skills.
A simple tactical zipperpull and a velcro flyhole equipped set of boxers provides a far superior combat 'edge'
combine that with a berzerkers battle cry and you're all set to inflict some serious damage on the would be perp.
of course YMMVComment

There are more than a few cops and district attorneys who will consider you carrying loaded if you have a loaded cylinder in your front pocket.
Do you think you can open carry an unloaded 1911 with a loaded magazine in your front pocket?Smith & Wesson 17-6, 586-7, 66-2, 681-1, 36, 27-2, 640

I know for a fact I *could*. Would I think the law is on my side when I got stopped? Well yes, I would, but they would not. And in this day & age they is fearfully synonymous with law.Comment

I'm pretty sure that it's specifically prohibited.

Not legal...It is a belt buckle gun and while you may eventually win at a jury trial since the gun is removed from the belt buckle you will still be arrested. Also if your shirt or jacked cover it you are carrying concealed since I don't believe that belt buckle would could as a holster. Already know of one person arrest for that.Comment

They locked up a guy down in San Diego a few weeks ago for wearing a belt with a pistol shaped buckle into a bank.
Looked like something you could buy at Hot Topics, nothing at all like a real gun if you are someone that knows firearms.
But he was taken down felony style by PD, cuffed and stuffed. The news reports said "charges may be pending" and he got to ride in the back of a cop car.
I would pass on the pistol/belt buckle idea.
I do know someone who started carrying that same revolver on a keychain holster after she was the victim of an armed robbery.sigpic
